Nutrition Strategy Development Guideline
The overarching aim of the nutrition strategy is to improve nutritional status and health outcomes across the target population, with a particular focus on integrating gender perspectives to ensure equity and inclusiveness. Specific aims include:
- Improve nutritional intake by all individuals, especially women and children, to have access to a balanced and diverse diet that meets their nutritional needs.
- Decrease the prevalence of malnutrition, including undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and overnutrition (obesity and related non-communicable diseases).
- Strengthen food systems to ensure a stable, affordable, and sustainable supply of nutritious foods.
- Address gender disparities in access to nutrition and agricultural resources, empowering women as key agents in improving household nutrition.
- Enhance the knowledge and skills of stakeholders, including farmers and community leaders to support nutrition-sensitive practices.
- Engage communities in developing and implementing nutrition interventions, ensuring culturally appropriate and locally relevant solutions.
